What is Prototyping?According to Noel on Games from Within, "A good game prototype is something fast/cheap that allows you to answer a specific question about your game. The key points there are fast/cheap and specific question. It’s not a level of a game, it’s not a “vertical slice”, and it’s certainly not an engine for the game." To me, prototyping is the first stage in the process of making a new game. This is the stage of putting things together into a playable version of the game. This will not have everything you wanted in your game, but it should give the experience that you wanted your game to give. Our GameMy, Sara's, and Adrian's game is called Back to the Beltline. It is about the Duke Beltline Trail. It consists of Trivia, Goals, and Teamwork. You have to complete all of the goals to win. I was the 3D Modeler, so I made 3D models of our game pieces, including player pieces and non-player pieces. What experience should you get from our game? When you play our game, you should gain educational and cooperation experience. The goals must be completed, but one person can't complete all of the goals. So, our game includes cooperation, but also includes some competition. Our game's winner is the person with the most goals completed at the end of the game. In Summary
